Mark Earle Losee, age 68, of North Star, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 1, 2026.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 5, 2026, with Pastor Phil Maxwell officiating. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 4-8 P.M. with a Rosary being prayed at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mark was born in Alma, Michigan on July 19, 1957, the son of Charles and Barbara (Lamey) Losee. He attended Ithaca High School in the class of 1975. In high school, he was a player who gave 100%! He played football and baseball. In 2023, he was inducted into the Gratiot Co. Hall of Fame baseball league. He played for the Ashley team. He also played slowpitch softball for many years and had his own team called Denman's Dairy Delight.
He worked for General Motor's over 30 years. When he retired, he had more time to pursue his passion which was hunting. He hunted every day he possibly could. He loved to hunt coyote, bear, bobcat and deer. He also loved to fish and spending time at grandpa's U.P. cabin. He had many, many hunting friends and family who will miss him greatly. His dedication and commitment to raising up future generations of hunters will always be remembered. He also had a passion for mentoring the men in his life to be leaders of their family.
Mark always had a bountiful, beautiful garden. He spent many hours making sure it was weed-free and caring for his pristine lawn. Going mushrooming was always a favorite spring camping vacation. Hanging out with family and friends was a wonderful time to be had by all. He enjoyed going to Nana's cabin to hang out with his kids and grandkids. He also spent a lot of time watching his grandkids in their many sporting activities. Mark will be missed by all he knew.
He is survived by his wife Diane, children: Jacque (Todd) Strack, Wendy (Phil) Maxwell, Kristy (David) DiIanni, and Andy (Karen) Densmore; his grandkids: Brook (Keith) Irani, Karissa DiIanni, Luke Maxwell, Kelsey DiIanni, Ella Beres, Quinn Densmore, Palmer Densmore, Mya Densmore, Ainsley Mae Strack, and Allison Densmore. He is also survived by his brothers: Michael (Robin) Losee, and Rodney (Donna) Losee; his sister Linda (Dave) Robbe; his mother-in-law Helen Stehlik; sisters and brothers in law: Rosie (Kary) Cooper, Sharon (Tom) Densmore, Kenny Stehlik, Randy (Karen) Stehlik, Chris (Ron) Becher, Jimmy (Jenni) Stehlik, and Janette (Matt) Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Barbara Losee, father-in-law James Stehlik, sister and brother-in-law Nancy (Daniel) Follett, and brothers-in-law: David Robbe and Alan Stehlik.
