Mark Baker

Mark Daniel Baker, age 47, of St. Johns, MI, passed away unexpectedly from complications following surgery Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, MI.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, with Pastor Tyler Barlage officiating.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. – until the time of service.

Mark was born in Carson City, Michigan on March 2, 1974, the son of Victor Baker and Vicky (Curns) Searles.  He graduated from Harrison High School with the class of 1993.  Mark had a passion for riding quads (4-wheelers).  He enjoyed cooking and using his family as guinea pigs for new recipes!  They will remember his pigs in a blanket, "trailer trash" tater-tot casserole, and hot chili.  He liked to fish and hunt.  He had many friends and loved to talk to them on the phone.  He was a mechanic both professionally and in his free time.  There wasn't anything he couldn't fix other than the crack of dawn and a broken heart.  Most of all, he loved to spend time with his daughter.

Mark is survived by daughter Kelsie Baker, mother Vicky Searles, siblings: Vic (Sheila) Baker, Katrina (Jeff) Pease, Jeremy Baker, and Charlie Witherell; and many nieces and nephews.
