Marilyn L. Whitney, age 87, of Crystal, died Sunday, September 16, 2018, at Country Friends AFC.
Marilyn was born in Alma on June 24, 1931, the daughter of Hubert and Alfretta (Fuller) Rockafellow. She married Loy L. Whitney in Middleton on December 4, 1950. Loy preceded her in death on October 19, 1990 after 40 years of marriage. She worked at Dow in St. Louis, and retired after 37 years at True Value Hardware in Carson City. Marilyn loved sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and baking for her family.
Marilyn is survived by her four children, Kirk (Judy) Whitney of Stanton, Jeff (Linda) Whitney of Stanton, Randy Whitney (special friend Shirley Bogg) of Georgia, and Steve (Michelle) Whitney of Crystal; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Alfretta Rockafellow; her mother-in law and father-in-law, Joe and Evah Peters; her grandson, Derek Whitney; and two brothers, Arlan Rockafellow and Douglas Rockafellow.
Memorial services will be 12 noon on Tuesday, September 25, at the Barden Funeral Home in Stanton, with David Steere officiating. Interment will be in Crystal Township Cemetery.
