Marie Neitzke

Marie Augusta Neitzke, age 100, four months and 16 days, of rural Breckenridge, MI, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wheeler, MI at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Paul Houser officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00 A.M until the time of the service at the church. Burial will take place at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge, MI.

Marie was born in Hemlock, Michigan on October 8, 1912, the daughter of August and Rose (Kade) Stenzel. She married Joseph Neitzke on June 29, 1930. Shortly after their marriage they moved to the Herman Neitzke family farm where they resided for their entire lives. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1978. She married Carl Rohn on June 24, 1995 who passed away on January 5, 1997.

Marie faithfully attended Zion Lutheran Church in Hemlock and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wheeler. She enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, playing the piano, gardening and making corsages from her flowers.

She is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Lucille (Robert) Shaver of Wheeler, Donna (Larry) Shimer of Indianapolis, IN, Janet (Larry) Snyder of Traverse City, and one son, John (Ginger) Neitzke of Kirksville, MO. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Lily (Neitzke) Stenzel of Hemlock.
