Marguriete “Marge” Mary Hall Dunlap

Marguriete “Marge” Mary Hall Dunlap, age 75, passed peacefully at home in Ashley, Michigan on December 28, 2015. She was born to Stephen and Dora Hall on April 7, 1940 in St. Johns, Michigan

Marge lived in St. Johns and married Dennis Dunlap. She worked in the food industry until 1972 when they started their dream adventure to Alaska with their three children.  After settling in Sutton, Alaska and making a home, Marge bartended and worked at Callison’s farm in the summers.

In 1985 Marge went back to school taking a business course. She went to work for the Federal Government  in the USDA - FSA, retiring after 15 years as the Chief Administrative Officer for FSA. She moved back to Michigan in 2000. After losing her youngest daughter in 2005, Marge took over raising her two youngest grandchildren Samantha and Steven

Marge was preceded in death by her father Stephen Hall and mother Dora Russell Hall; two older sisters; husband Dennis Dunlap; and daughter Sharon Dunlap. She is survived by her daughter Barbara and her husband Larry Leppanen of Sutton Alaska; son Scott Dunlap of Willow, Alaska; and grandchildren Chelsea and John Leppanen and Samantha and Steven Dunlap.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11am, January 9, 2016 at the Ashley Community Center with a luncheon to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in support of the grandchildren.
