Margaret Agnes Smith, age 92, of Breckenridge, MI passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Gary Miller officiating. Burial will take place at Emerson Township Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday March 1, 2013 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Margaret was born in Bethany Township, Michigan on October 13, 1920, the daughter of John and Anna (Coston) Walker. She graduated from St. Louis High School. Margaret married Paul Howard Smith on July 28, 1939 in Emerson Township, MI.
Margaret was a housekeeper for more than 25 years at Gratiot Community Hospital. She liked sewing, quilting and water aerobics and going to eat with her friends. Margaret loved gardening, canning and was very famous for her homemade potato salad, potato soup and texas sheet cake. Margaret looked forward to family gatherings and holidays. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wheeler, MI.
She is survived by her daughters; Barbara and Dale Allen, Karin and Brad Shaull, Marsha Fuller, daughter-in-law Joyce Smith, her grandchildren; Lee, Kathleen, DeNeice, Julie, Darcie, Michael, Angela, Jacob, Kathryn, Joseph and Merdith, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Thelma Miller, sister-in-laws Phyllis Walker, JoAnne Netzley and Virginia Dancer and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, sons; Ronald and James, grandson Gregory Smith and great grandsons; Nicholas Vietti and Hunter & Colton Allen.
