Marcella Ann Seifert

     Marcella Ann Seifert, age 89, of Ashley, MI, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Woodland Hospice House, Mt. Pleasant, MI.

     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pauls Apostle Catholic Church, Ithaca, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, with Rev. Fr. Edwin Dwyer presiding. Burial will take place at North Star Cemetery, North Star, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI. A Rosary will prayed at 7:30 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.

     Marcella was born in Morenci, Ohio on July 24, 1937, the daughter of Marcel and Catherine (Vince) Vereecke. She married Lloyd Joseph Seifert, on September 30, 1961, in Lyons, Ohio. They were blessed with 7 children and almost 49 years of marriage, prior to his passing on August 13, 2010.

     Marcella enjoyed bowling, shopping, Elvis music, word search puzzles and watching family feud. She looked forward to family gatherings and parties that included music and dancing. Most of all Marcella loved spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Pauls Apostle Catholic Church Ithaca, MI.

     She is survived by her children: Mindy Beracy of Ashley, MI, Becka and Bill Bongard of Ashley, MI, Mark and Michelle Seifert of Marne, MI, Gina and Eric Wang of Fayetteville, NC, Jon and Stephanie Seifert of Ithaca, MI, Rena and Phil House of Cincinnati, OH, Deanna and Steve Hardman of Ashley, MI, 18 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way. She is also survived by her sister Annette Akers of Adrian, MI and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Lloyd.
