Lynn Francis Burgess

     Lynn Francis Burgess, age 74, of Ovid, MI, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026, at Hazel Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.
     Per the family wishes, there will be no services at this time.
     Lynn was born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI on February 22, 1952, the son of Leon Albert and Frieda Elizabeth (Pesenski) Burgess. He graduated with an associate’s degree from Michigan State University. On August 18, 1973, Lynn married June Denise Hoeltzel in Newberry, MI. They were blessed with fifty-three years of marriage, and she survives him.
     Lynn came to Ovid in 1973, to work at Vaughan's Seed Company, from there he worked for Paul Nemanis Electric and then bought the business. Finally, he worked for Roberts Dairy until retirement.
     Lynn loved the UP. He was raised in the Soo, and had a stint in Muskegon until his family found their way to Newberry. He loved going "home." His favorite place was the deer camp, and always regretted never having enough time to go up as much as he wanted.
     He is survived by his wife Denise; his children: Kirsten (Josh) Cole, Courtney (Andy) Bates, Theron (Melissa) Burgess, and Bethany (Brian) Lawrence; his grandchildren: Vivian (Victor Feldpausch) Cole, Justin Cole, Evalyn Cole, Audrey Bates, Ava Bates, Lilian Bates, Lydia Lawrence, Lilah Lawrence, Gunner Lawrence and Lincoln Burgess. He is also survived by his siblings: Dennis (Lynda) Burgess, Leenette (Tony) Guay, and Steve (Becky) Burgess; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Leon and Frieda Burgess.
