Louis John Palus, Jr.

     Louis John Palus, Jr., age 66, of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI, at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, November 8, 2024, with Rev. Fr. Joseph Applehanz presiding. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
     Louis was born in St. Johns, MI on July 31, 1958, the son of Louis John and Christina Mildred (Ochodnicky) Palus. He was a graduate of Ovid- Elsie High School, with the Class of 1977; then later attended Culinary School.
     Louis loved to cook and feed everyone. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening and feeding the birds and the squirrels. He was an avid bike rider. Louis will be remembered for his kind heart and willingness to always help others. His faith was very important to him. Louis was a member of Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Middleville, MI. He was a member of the Working Class Party and ran for political office.
     He is survived by his sister Mary and Dale Terryberry of Charlevoix, MI; sister Vicky Peak of Cedar Springs, MI; sister Kristie and Eric De Iuliis of Dimondale, MI; brother Joe and Trudy Palus of Barryton, MI. Louis is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Kathy Vasilenko.
