Lorian Pauline "Lori" Wilder

August 1, 1972 — October 12, 2023

Grand Haven

Lorian Pauline "Lori" Wilder, age 51, of Grand Haven, MI passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Cremation with a graveside service will take place at a later date.

Lori was born in Grand Haven, MI on August 1, 1972, the daughter of Thomas and Christine (Neumann) Vissers. Lori spent 13 years as a stay-at-home mother before completing her education and eventually starting her own counseling practice. Her son Lucas described her diligence as a parent: “My mom taught me that parenting is hard work when you are doing it right. She never shied away from that work, saying "blame me", telling me to use her as my excuse to get away from whatever trouble I was trying to get up to.  It mostly worked. She always set the bar high, and I'll continue to strive for that bar for the rest of my days.”

Lori and Jeremey were inseparable since they started dating in junior high in 1987. Lori’s presence will be missed by all who knew her and benefited from her kindness, compassion and generosity, none more than her adoring family.

She is survived by her husband Jeremey Wilder, children: Lucas and Hannah Wilder, Madison and Tim Schrank, Morgan and Amanda Wilder, and Cecilia Wilder; grandchildren: Rosemary Wilder, granddaughter on the way Hazel Wilder, Henry Schrank, twin girls on the way Emma & Lucille Schrank.  She is also survived by her mother Christine Vissers, siblings: Cheryl and Les Ankersen, Tricia and Dan Wisniewski, Tracy and Eric Walle, Carol and Zac Hubbard, John Vissers, Emmalie Vissers, Rachel Vissers, Heather and Mike Schultz, mother in law Barbara and Don Vanostenberg.  She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Vissers and father-in-law Alan Wilder.
