Lila Decker

Lila B. Decker age 85 of St. Louis died Thursday, February 5, 2004 after a brief illness and stay at Schnepp Healthcare Center in St. Louis, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 9, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel in St. Louis, Michigan. Rev. Sam Dunbar will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2004 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M.
Lila was born in St. Louis, Michigan on May 15, 1921 the daughter of Orin and Pearl (Fishborn) Little. She attended St. Louis Schools. She married Carl Jones on June 12, 1937. Carl passed away in October 1960. She subsequently married Fred Decker on November 16, 1963. Fred Decker passed away in September 1993. Lila was a homemaker, who loved to knit, crochet, read, and attend church. She also liked her plants, cooking, and visiting with family. Lila loved her dog Buddy, who preceded her in death in November 2003. She was a member of St. Louis First Church of God. Lila was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and had performed in the VFW Senior Citizens Band for years.
Survivors include; her five children; Irene and John McMaster of Aurora, Colorado, Donna and Paul Erskine, of St. Louis, Michigan, Norma and Dave Bast, of Minnesota, Ruth Davis of St. Louis, Michigan, and Ken and Linda Jones of Ithaca, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Detwiler of Bay City, Michigan; and special family friend, Dorothy, of Bay City Michigan.
She was predeceased by her parents, two husbands, infant daughter Lara Belle, and granddaughter Donna Linn Jones, two brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to Gratiot County Commission on Aging or St Louis First Church of God. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St Louis Chapel.
