Laura Maureen (Tittle) Teed

October 21, 1951 — February 20, 2024

Ashley

Laura Maureen Teed, age 72, of Ashley, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024.  It is quite possibly the hardest thing to do when you are faced with announcing the passing of your wife, mother, grandmother, and sister due to cancer.  Laura was a fighter.  She fought cancer for nearly 3 years after receiving a Stage 4 diagnosis in May of 2021, defying all expectations.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 26, 2024, with Rev. Brian Brown officiating. Burial will take place at Collier Cemetery, Ashley, MI. Visitation will take place on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Laura was born in DeLand, Florida on October 21, 1951, the daughter of Clifford Ellsworth and Juanita Eileen (Monastere) Tittle.  She married Samuel J. Teed on July 12, 1975, at DeWitt Community Church. Laura was small in size, but her heart was big.  She loved deeply and fully, and her kindness was evident and available to everyone she met.  She spent her life caring for others and making others know how much she cared; her own children, the children of others, and the sick and elderly.  She loved caring for others and was never above the humblest task that could be of service to someone else.  One of the hardest things she faced in her illness was being the one that others cared for.  She greatly enjoyed cooking for others, which was her love language.  She was very dedicated to her church, Lansing Pilgrim Holiness Church and committed to the children she picked up and taught in Sunday School.  Laura's family was very important to her, especially close to heart were her grandchildren.  She had a love for dogs and tending to her houseplants.

Her family knew she was suffering in her last days and weeks, although she barely said a word about that to anyone.  Although there is peace in knowing her suffering has ended it is hard to say goodbye.  The sting of grief and numbness of reality are deep when coping with the loss of someone who was so great, compassionate and precious.  The hope is always for more time together but that is not for us to decide.  Now and forever, she will remain, where she has always has been, in the hearts and love of her family and in the loving hands of God.

She is survived by her husband Samuel Teed; daughter Juanita Ramos; daughter Rebekah and Michael Dickman; son Timothy Teed and James Wilson; grandchildren:   Parker, Callie, Evangelyn, and Kevin; sister Pat Doyle; and sister Mary Tittle; and numerous honorary grandchildren.   Laura was preceded in death by her parents; sister Carol Joiner; and brother Gary Tittle.

Memorials in Laura’s honor may be made to Lansing Pilgrim Holiness Church Independent and mailed to 8687 E. French Road, Elsie, MI 48831.
