Laura Lynn Micka

     Laura Lynn Micka, age 58, of Ashley, MI, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center, Alma, MI after complications with diabetes.
     Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, from 2-6 P.M. on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI at a later date.
     Laura was born in Carson City, Michigan on November 18, 1967, the daughter of Raymond J. and Barbara A. (Skaryd) Micka. Laura enjoyed gardening, watching sports, and her grandchildren.
     She is survived by her children: Ashley and Bradley Downs of Laingsburg, MI; Brooke and Jason Warner of DeWitt, MI; and Kody and Nicole Coleman of Grand Rapids, MI; her mother Barbara Galehouse and Norman Martin of Ovid, MI; her grandchildren: Tayven, Ezra, Dekyn, Camden, Abe, Arlo, and Emerson. She is also survived by her step-mother Barbara Micka of Grand Ledge, MI; her step-brothers: Troy and Robert Calkins of Chicago, IL; Chad Calkins of MA; her sister-in-law Chris Stewart of Ovid, MI; her friend Rodney Reist of Ashley, MI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Raymond, her son Jacob, and her brothers: John and Richard Micka, and her grandparents.
