LaRue Spitler

LaRue George "Red" Spitler, age 90, of St. Johns, Michigan passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at Grace Haven Assisted Living in St. Johns, Michigan.

A Memorial Service will be held at Osgood Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel on Friday, March 25, 2016 at 4:00 P. M. with visitation held prior to the service on Friday from 2-4 P.M.

LaRue was born in Shiawassee County, Michigan on July 5, 1925, the son of John and Ruth (Sutton) Spitler. On July 6, 1946 he married Eythel Willett in Lansing, Michigan. Eythel died on August 9, 2013.  LaRue was an appraiser for Capitol Savings and Loan, in Lansing, Michigan. He was a member of the Lansing Home Builders Association and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by his son Larry and Sandra Spitler of St. Johns, MI, daughter Cindy and Steven Higgins of St. Johns, MI, 4 grandchildren; Marc Higgins, Darrin  Higgins, Greg and Daniel Spitler, Jeff Spitler, half sister Judy and Brian McKee, and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, stepmother Mary Spitler, his wife, and half brother Max Sutton.
