Larry Lee Grey, age 73, of St. Louis, MI, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 22, 2020.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI, on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor Gige Snyder officiating.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Larry was born in Owosso, MI on January 4, 1947, the son of Norval and Delores (Stull) Grey. He graduated from Owosso High School with the class of 1965.  Larry was a diesel mechanic and worked for Pepsi and Waste Management. In retirement, Larry worked for Gratiot County Parks - Reed Park.

In 1978, Larry met the love of his life, Carmen Jones. On October 6, 1990, they were married in Lansing, MI. They were looking forward to celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary in October.

In his younger years, Larry loved to golf, hunt and fish with his friends. He enjoyed playing pool, darts, and pinball. Larry was proud of his years farming and always loved to be outside. The last few years, he loved to spend time in his man cave tinkering, fixing bikes and anything else that needed his attention. Most of all, Larry loved his dog, Chuco, and then his family. In spite of his many illnesses, his love and his will to live, kept him going for them.

Larry is survived by his wife Carmen, 7 children: Matthew (Chrissy Beutler) Grey of Lake, Larinda (fiancé Brian Zemla) Grey of Owosso, Laura (Carl) Faust of Albion, Sandra (Mike) Brasington of Farwell, Donald "Poncho" (Jane) Jones of Lansing, John (Kellie) Jones of Lansing and Tina (Kevin Powelson) Jones of St. Louis; 26 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by 2 sisters: Linda Campbell and Sue (Paul) Sobchik; and Carmen's siblings:  Nacho (Sherry) Velasquez, Febe (Pam) Velasquez, Josie Kelly, Liz (Terry) Berry, and Rosie (Raymond) Trejo; and many nieces and nephews.  Larry was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Chad Strickfaden, and 2 infant great-grandchildren: Daniel and Mallory; 2 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law.
