Kaye Gwenavere Cleveland, age 83, of Haslett, MI, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2020 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel.

Kaye was born in Ann Arbor, MI on December 14, 1936, the daughter of Allen Byron Hill and Florine Lena Marie (Bond-Hill) Peabody. She graduated from Lansing Eastern High School with the Class of 1954.

Kaye retired from Sears as a sales associate after 20+ years of service. She looked forward to get togethers with her Sears co-workers. She also worked at Athletic Lettering in Colorado and Melville Emblem in Lansing, sewing many uniforms for local athletic teams. Kaye loved crocheting, sewing, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson. Kaye loved her dog Shanti very much, she was always spoiling her. She liked bird watching and looking at her flowers. She enjoyed watching MSU basketball & football and the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. She also enjoyed music, dancing, playing the accordion & organ, singing, and square dancing. Kaye loved the Trans Siberian Orchestra and had attended many concerts. She was very excited to attend the Elton John Concert two years ago with her son and granddaughter. She loved baking for her family and friends, and was known for her famous apple pie. Chocolate and Coca Cola were some of her favorite treats. Kaye collected salt and pepper shakers, she has hundreds of sets displayed in her home. She loved to be the life of the party and was known to be laughing, smiling and telling jokes. She was a member of Pennway Church of God in Lansing where she was also a member of the church choir. She was a wonderful mother, step mother to three boys, grandmother and great grandmother and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by son Aaron Cleveland of Lansing; daughter Trena and Mike Stilwell of St. Johns; daughter Heidi Rambo and TJ Teall of Ovid; grandchildren: Steven, Tyler, Ashleigh, Gage, Gabrielle, Destanie, Brenna, Jaden; and great grandson Declan; sister and best friend Judy and Ron Decker of Lansing; sister Janie and John Cooper of Farwell; step sister Donora and Dick Stauffer of Lansing; and her best friend Vi Flewelling of Haslett.  She was preceded in death by her parents, step father David Peabody, granddaughter Shelby Bates, brother John Hill, step sister Alice (Roger) Miller and step brother David Peabody.
