Kathryn Browne

Kathryn Browne, age 90, of Sumner, died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Rosewood AFC in Ithaca.

Kathryn was born October 11, 1922 to Alpha and Susan (Minninger) Peters in Newark Township, Michigan. She married Rockford Browne February 14, 1943. Kathryn loved her family and enjoyed cooking, traveling, and fishing.

Kathryn is survived by her husband of 70 years, Rockford; her daughter Nancy (Ron) Smejkal of Sumner; son Ken (Carolyn) Browne of Sumner; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters Lucille Hopkins of Ohio, Edith Rapson of Ithaca, and June Peters of Traverse City.

She is preceded in death by her son Jimmy, brother Reno Peters, and sister Marie Kreiger.

Funeral services for Kathryn will be 11am Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca. Pastor George Showers will officiate and burial will follow at New Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6pm Saturday, February 9, and 2-4pm and  6-8pm Sunday, February 10, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gratiot Commission on Aging.
