Katherine Lucille Feneis, age 93, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at her home with her daughters by her side.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 5, 2021, with Rev. Fr. Michael Williams officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 5:30 - 7:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI. Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Katherine was born in St. Johns, Michigan on January 12, 1928, the daughter of George and Lettie (Crandall) Purvis. Katherine married Clare Mathias Feneis on August 9, 1947, in St. Johns, MI. Clare passed away on February 16, 2000.
Katherine was a life member of VFW Post 4113 Ladies Auxiliary, St. Johns, MI, the Red Hat Society, and also St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Johns, MI. She enjoyed traveling with her sister and daughters, and many cruises with her husband Clare.
She is survived by her daughters: Suzann and Dennis Brown of DeWitt, MI, and Debra Forbes of St. Johns, MI, great-granddaughter Chelsea Forbes of Grand Rapids, MI, and granddaughter-in-law Holly Forbes of Grand Rapids, MI. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grand dogs: Brody and Stuart. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clare, son Robert Feneis, grandson Adam Forbes, brother Roy Purvis, and sisters: Ruth Good and Leona Karber.
