Karin Shaull

Karin Shaull, 67, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at her home after a battle with breast cancer.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at North Star Cemetery with Pastor Doug Strait officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Karin was born in Alma, MI on June 6, 1952, the daughter of Paul and Margaret (Walker) Smith. She graduated from St. Louis High School with the class of 1970. On May 3, 1975, Karin married Brad Shaull at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wheeler, MI.

Karin loved spending her summers at the horse shows. She spent a week at the Midland fair every year with her friends showing horses and enjoying cocktails. Her granddaughters were the highlight of her life. She loved watching them show their horses and taking them camping.

Karin served the Alma community with Dr. Murray and Alma Clinic which is now Gratiot Family Practice for 30 years, prior to that she worked for Alma Hospital.

Karin is survived by her husband Brad Shaull of Ithaca, 2 daughters: Angie (Nick) Bailey of Ithaca, and Katie (Matt) Wagar of Climax; and 3 granddaughters: Josie Wagar, Ella Wagar and Bianca Bailey. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Ruth Shaull, 2 sisters: Barbara Allen and Marsha Fuller; 2 sisters-in-law: Melanie Smith and Joyce Smith; 2 brothers-in-law: Greg Shaull and Jay Shaull; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Karin was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Donald Shaull, and 2 brothers: Jim Smith and Ron Smith.
