June Peters

June M. Peters, age 87, of Traverse City, Michigan formerly of Ithaca, Michigan died Monday, February 18, 2013 at Tendercare Birchwood Nursing Home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, MI, on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 10:30 A.M., with Minister Richard Litwiller officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service.

June was born in Ithaca, Michigan on June 1, 1925, the daughter of Alpha and Susan (Mininger) Peters. She attended the Smith-Allen School.

June gave her heart to the Lord and accepted the Lord as her savior at the age of 12 years old by her grandpa, Minister H. J. Mininger. June had a friendly personality and she enjoyed family gatherings and sharing time with her favorite cousins. She was a hard worker and enjoyed gospel hymns.

June suffered a disabling illness most of her life. In her later years June made her home at Birchwood Nursing Center in Traverse City, Michigan. She was well cared for and enjoyed the pleasant surroundings. The staff enjoyed her very much and will miss her. We leave her resting in the hands of our loving Savior.

Survivors include her 2 sisters; Lucille Hopkins, Urbania, Ohio, Edith Rapson, Ithaca, Michigan, brother in law Rockford Browne, Ithaca, Michigan, many nieces, nephews and friends.
