Judith Ann Bovee

     Judith "Judy" Ann Bovee age 84 of Alma and formerly of Ithaca, MI, passed peacefully in her sleep on September 12, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer.
     Judith was born in Flint, Michigan on July 15, 1939, the daughter of Edward and Eva (Jennings) Waterous.  She was a graduate of Manderville High School in Flint.  Judy received her Bachelor's Degree in history at Michigan State University where she met the love of her life.  She married Jerald "Jerry" Bovee on September 17, 1960, at South Mundy United Methodist Church and they were married 57 years.  Jerry passed away on February 9, 2017.
     Judy was an Office Manager for their family business, Bovee Electric.  She enjoyed counted cross-stitch and playing the hammered dulcimer.  She was a classic movie buff and an avid reader of historical fiction.
     She is survived by her daughters: Julie Hill (Darius Archer) of San Jose, CA, Janet (Barry) Chaffin of Monte Sereno, CA; sons: Jerry (Barbara Yacobellis) Bovee of Vallejo, CA, and Jeffery (Jennifer) Bovee of Sterling, IL; 5 grandchildren: Jessica Bovee, Jacqueline (William) Howard, Josephine Bovee, Wesley Chaffin, and Miles Chaffin; 3 great-grandsons: William, Lucas, and Brock Howard.  Judy is also survived by 3 brothers: Ed (Pat), Tom and Dennis (Mary), sister Janice Waterous, and sisters-in-law: Rebecca Waterous and Marion Bovee May.  Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jerry, son-in-law Harold Hill and brother Gary Waterous.
     Instead of a memorial service, Judy's wish was for you to remember her most special moments with you in life. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Ithaca Cemetery at a later date.
