Joyce Ione Harrison, age 91, of St. Louis, MI, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Schnepp Health Care Center, St. Louis, MI.
In following Joyce's wishes, a cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Joyce will be buried next to her husband George in Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI.
Joyce was born in Flint, Michigan on February 14, 1930, the daughter of Charles L. and Mary L. (Siegle) Wilkinson. She graduated from Ithaca High School with the class of 1948. On December 14, 1951, Joyce married George L. Harrison. After nearly 47 years of marriage, George passed away on November 20, 1997.
Joyce enjoyed sewing and knitting and watching the birds. She and George took many family camping trips. She always looked forward to visiting the Soo annually. Joyce ran a daycare out of her home for many years and loved time with the children. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially the babies.
Joyce is survived by 2 daughters: Linda Gleesing of Saginaw, MI; Lisa Nentwig of Elwell, MI; 5 grandchildren: Shannon (Brian) Bonsall, Cliff (Sam) Nentwig, Nick (Jen) Nentwig, and Megan Gleesing; 9 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George, grandson DJ Gleesing, sisters: Annetta Beracy and Loreen Seeger; and an infant brother.
