John Marshall Criswell

     John Marshall Criswell, age 78, of St. Louis, Michigan, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center - Gratiot, Alma, Michigan.
     A Memorial Service will be held at Alma Elks Lodge, Alma, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, June 16, 2025, with Pastor Lee Rhodes officiating.
     John was born in Coldwater, Michigan on September 30, 1946, the son Marshall G. and Eleanor L. (Brown) Criswell. He graduated from Alma High School and Michigan State University. Throughout his career, John was an officer for the Alma Police Department, a Deputy Sheriff for Clinton County, and a Fire Investigator. He then retired from Gratiot County Dispatch. On August 15, 1991, John married his high school sweet heart, Kay Lorraine Austin, in Orlando, Florida. They were blessed with 33 years of marriage.
     John enjoyed spending summers camping at Leisure Lake Campground and playing cards with his high school friends. He loved time with his family and friends. John was a member of the Alma Elks Lodge #1400 where he served twice as Exalted Ruler.
     He is survived by his wife Kay, two sons: Michael (Angela), and Scott (Robbin); three grandchildren: Brandon, Erica, and Braxton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Carol.
