Joann Mary Shaulis

     Joann Mary Shaulis, age 57, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the University of Michigan- Sparrow Lansing, Lansing, MI.
     Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church of St. Johns, St. Johns, MI, at 11:00 A.M on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, with Pastor Brandon Crawford officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, MI. Visitation will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes – Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
     Joann was born in Detroit, MI, on December 25, 1968, the daughter of Joseph Kozak and Jean Harmon. She graduated from St. Johns High School with the class of 1987. On May 18, 1991, Joann married Thomas Shaulis in Williamston, MI, and spent 34 wonderful years together.
     Joann loved being a grandmother and spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching NCIS and gardening. She had a green thumb and could grow most anything. She loved listening to the sound of her wind chimes, and enjoyed going out to dinner at Ponderosa often. When she wasn't gardening or eating at Ponderosa, Joann could be found at home reading. She was an avid reader who enjoyed all kinds of books.
     She is survived by her husband, Thomas; her children: Jessica (Jarred) Knight, and Timothy (Ariel) Shaulis; her grandchildren: Jesslyn Knight, Jameson Knight, and Trey Matthews; her siblings Debbie Edwards, Denise Harmon, Tammy (Larry) Hall, Angel (Scott) Mendham, and Victor (Sue) Harmon. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings: Ricky Harmon and JC Harmon.
