Jerry Girard

David Jerry Girard, age 77, of Ithaca, died peacefully on October 4, 2017, at Masonic Pathways in Alma.

Jerry was born March 28, 1940, in Bay City, the son of Elmer and Irene (Atkinson) Girard.  He married Mary Ann Louise Fisher on July 7, 1969 in Fredrick, Michigan  He worked for 23 years in animal Control for the County of Gratiot, and also served as a reserve deputy.  He enjoyed watching wrestling, old movies, and especially westerns on the television.  He loved to cook, and enjoyed large bar-b-ques.  Jerry was a wonderful father, and accepted his step children as his own.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary; his daughters, Sherry (Jerry) Schaub of Santee, CA, Cindy Girard of Battle Creek, Debra (David) Bailey of Plant City, FL, Karen Stringfellow of Ocala, FL, Linda Youman of Battle Creek, Nancy Radloff of LaPort, IN, and Kimberly (Joseph) Tulk of Windsor, CO; 16 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; five sisters, Peggy Dunn, Elaine Wood, Donna Hull, Susan Wilkinson all of Union City, and Lynette Girard of Drummond; and his brother, Mark Gerard of Union City.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandson, Nicholas James Bailey.
