Jeffrey Mills

     Jeffrey Mills, age 63, of Elsie, MI, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. 
     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 6, 2024 with Brian Warren officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the Funeral Home. Following the service there will be a funeral reception held at the Ovid VFW Post 8964, located at 218 S. Main Street in Ovid. 
     Jeffrey was born in Fort Bragg, NC on August 21, 1961, the son of Gerald Allen Mills and Carole Anne (Baker) Mills-Riojas. Jeff was graduate of Ovid-Elsie High School. On March 16, 2024 he married Andrea Chapman, his devoted and loving soul mate of 16 years. 
     Jeff worked for Shaheen Chevrolet in Lansing. He loved to golf and even enjoyed watching golf, Jeff also loved basketball, loved playing and watching it. He was an inductee and a member of the Ovid-Elsie Basketball High School Hall of Fame. Jeff also enjoyed spending time on his boat and drinking a beer, he loved music and to blare his favorite music loudly. Spending time with his family and grandchildren whenever he could brought Jeff the greatest joy, he loved his family and his grandchildren immensely. He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, loving to joke around and his great sense of humor. Jeff adored the time he and Andrea spent together just enjoying life with one another. 
     He is survived by his wife Andrea Mills; daughters: Becca (Branden) Legeman, and Katelyn Mills; bonus daughters: Nicole (Jake) Hagan, and Chelsea Shannon; 19 grandchildren: Averie, Emilia, Miyah, Jocelyne "Sugar", Noah, Lucas, Holden, Elias, La'Miah, Malena, Cali'Anna, Jayvien, Jeremiah, Elijah, Casey Jr., Brooklyn, Isaiah, Linnie, and Lorenzo; mother Carole Mills-Riojas; sisters: Melissa (Ken) Bishop, Michele (James) Robinson, Heather (Denny) Casteel and Mitzi (Bill) Arnold; mother-in-law: Mary Baxter; in-laws: Steve (Amy) Dyer, Jennifer Riojas, and Brookie Riojas. Jeff is also survived by many other family members and friends. 
     Jeff was preceded in death by his father Gerald Mills, bonus dad Isrreal, brother Jerry Mills, also sister Baby Girl Mills in infancy.
     Special thanks to Jeff's close dear friends, Nick and Christina Tijerina and Brian Warren for their unwavering support and love. Andrea would also like to express her gratitude to Shaheen for going above and beyond, and for their compassionate support during this difficult time.
