Jeannine (Mecorney) Smith, age 75, of Lansing, MI, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Hospice House of Mid Michigan, Lansing, MI.

Cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held in Jackson, MI at a future date. Burial will take place at Roseland Memorial Gardens, Jackson, MI.

Jeannine was born in Jackson, MI on June 21, 1945, the daughter of Lacerne and Virginia (Carpenter) Mecorney. She attended Jackson High School.

Jeannine was known for her beautiful garden and canning. She was creative, crafty and a wonderful cook. She will be remembered for her quick wit. Her door was always open to anyone who wanted to share a cup of coffee and conversation, she treated everyone like family. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #4482, Millersburg, MI.

She is survived by daughter Libby and Gary Strpko of Lansing, MI, grandchildren: Garrett Strpko and fiancée Taylor Hartman, Wyatt Strpko, mother in law Norma Myers of Grand Ledge, MI, brother in law Charlie and Cindy Smith of Midland, MI and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard Smith, daughters: Tammie Davis and Terrie Davis, and brother Bruce Parish.

Memorials may be made to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan in memory of Jeannine, 1210 W. Saginaw St. Lansing, MI 48915.  Online condolences can be made at www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI.
