Jeanne H. Barrone

Jeanne H. Barrone age 95 of Alma, formerly of Ithaca, died September 29, 2014 at Masonic Pathways in Alma, Michigan.

Jeanne was born July 14, 1919 in Detroit, to Alexander and Hazel (Hawley) MacKenzie. She graduated from Royal Oak High School in 1936. Jeanne married Max W. Barrone on August 17, 1939 at Royal Oak St. Johns Episcopal Church. Jeanne retired after twenty-five years of service to the State of Michigan. She was an active member for over 70 years of the First Presbyterian Church in Ithaca.

Jeanne is survived by three sons: M. Warren (Marianne) Barrone, of Clarksville; Timothy (Beverly) Barrone, of Gobles; Mark Barrone of Douglas. 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Donald MacKenzie of Charleston, South Carolina.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Max in 1993; her parents Alexander and Hazel; a sister Lucille Blenman; three brothers, J. Carlton, Hawley MacKenzie, and Richard MacKenzie; and a daughter-in-law, Jacquelyn Barrone.

A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Ithaca with Rev. Joseph Novak officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ithaca First Presbyterian Church.

The family is being served by the Barden Funeral Home in Ithaca.
