Jeanine Faye Holmes

     Jeanine Faye Holmes, age 89, of Sumner, MI, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 20, 2025, with Rev. Bryon Fling officiating. Burial will take place at Pritchard Cemetery, Elwell, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
     Jeanine was born in Alma, Michigan on June 6, 1936, the daughter of Mark S. and Amelia (Strack) King. She graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1954. Jeanine married James Holmes on November 14, 1953, in Alma, MI. They were blessed with 71 wonderful years together. Jeanine was an avid quilter for many decades. She loved knitting and completed over 3,500 hat and mitten sets for the commission on aging for the kids in schools. Jeanine loved being in the comfort of her home, sitting on her porch watching for deer, and being surrounded by her family. She was a member of St. Louis Holiness Church.
     She is survived by her husband Jim Holmes of Sumner, MI; her daughter Vicky Lougher of Ithaca, MI; grandchildren: Jennifer and (Lee) James of St. Johns, FL; and James Holmes (Ashley) of Norfolk, VA; and great-granddaughter Danica Holmes. Jeanine is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son James Holmes, siblings: Mark King, Ilah McClintic and Mary Evans.
