Janice Rose Dickman

February 11, 1958 — June 15, 2023

St. Louis

Janice Rose Dickman, age 65 of St. Louis passed away at her home, Thursday, June 15, 2023.

Cremation has taken place and a private memorial for family and friends will be held at a later date.

Janice was born February 11, 1958 in Alma, Michigan.  She was the youngest of eight children born to Ferdie and Maggie Dickman. Janice graduated from St. Louis High School in 1976, and earned an Associate’s Degree from LCC. Janice was employed as a cook in the Dietary Department at Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab where she worked and built lifelong friendships for over thirty years.

As the youngest of the family, Janice often babysat her many nieces and nephews in her twenties.  In later years, her siblings learned what an influence she was in their children’s lives.  While most cannot say she was a “good” influence - at least not with a straight face, they all agree they learned a LOT, had fun making unforgettable memories, and loved time with Aunt Janice. Along with reading and cooking, Janice loved family gatherings where she enjoyed dishing out good natured teasing and sharing a laugh.

She is survived by three sisters: Mary Jo (Ike) Pankhurst, Joyce White, and Marilyn Trevino; three sisters-in-law: Mary Dickman, Lorna Dickman, and Becky Dickman; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and well-loved cousins.  Janice was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Mary Kay Dickman, three brothers: William Dickman, Richard Dickman, and Alfred Dickman and one brother-in-law Lee Trevino.

The family would like to thank the staff at PACE for their care and friendship to Janice.

Memorials in Janice’s honor may be made to PACE Central Michigan. Online condolences may be made at www.smithfamilyfuneralhomes.com.  The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, Michigan.
