Janet Marie (Houser) Foland

      Janet Marie Foland, age 75, of St. Johns, MI, peacefully passed away Monday, February 5, 2024, at her home with her husband at her side.

      A private family service was held at Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton Township, MI.

     Janet was born in Carson City, Michigan on February 27, 1948, the daughter of Clyde V. and Marian Grace (Beck) Houser. She graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School with the Class of 1966 and earned a nursing degree from Hurley Medical School and Lansing Community College.  On January 23, 1970, Janet married Danny Lyle Foland at First United Methodist Church, St. Johns. They have been married for fifty-four years.

      Janet was a nurse for Dr. Newman in Lansing until her boys were born. She then devoted herself to caring for her family. She volunteered at the school. Janet was a gifted artist. Her paintings, Afghans, and baby blankets were given to many friends and family. 

      Janet is survived by her husband Danny, son Brett Foland of AZ; son Brad (Heidi) Foland of St. Johns, MI; three granddaughters: Brook, Rochelle, and Hailey; brother-in-law Marvin Lovegrove, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Margaret (Jack) Hart, Alan (Delores) Houser, and Sue Lovegrove.
