James Marr

James Howard Marr, age 83 of St. Louis, MI, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Steve Gulick officiating.  Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

James was born in Saginaw, MI on March 9, 1936 the son of Cecil and Florence (Williams) Marr.  He graduated from St. Louis High School and later graduated from Ferris State University.  Jim married Phyllis Ann Wolfe on August 5, 1962 in Alma, MI; Phyllis passed away on May 27, 2009.

Jim started his career at the Ford Dealership in Alma; afterward he began his own business, Marr's Garage in 1976.  Jim loved restoring old cars and going to car shows.  Jim and his friend, Nancy enjoyed going dancing.  Jim resided most of his life in St. Louis.

He is survived by his son Brian and Bobbie Marr of St. Louis, MI; 4 grandchildren: Emma Border, Elizabeth Hill, Taylor Marr and Dylan Marr; special friend Nancy Riker of Sumner; caregivers Becky and Sonny.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis, daughter Lisa Hill, grandson Brandon Border, and many brothers and sisters.
