James Kenneth "Jim" Leasher

     James Kenneth "Jim" Leasher, age 76, of Breckenridge, MI, passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, at MyMichigan Medical Center - Midland, MI.

     A celebration of his life will be held at the family farm, 8364 Jerseyville Road, Blanchard, MI, (look for a trail with signs, this is back in the woods) on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 1:00 P.M.

     James was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on October 19, 1945, the son of George and Olive (Owens) Leasher.  Jim graduated from Blanchard High School with the class of 1963.  Jim married Gloriann "Gloria" Travis on November 11, 1965, at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Shepherd, MI.

     Jim retired from Dow Chemical as a millwright in 2001.  He enjoyed spending time at deer camp and traveling.  He always looked forward to Friday afternoon poker at the farm with his brothers and friends.  Most of all Jim loved spending time with his children and grandchildren working in his wood shop.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Alma.  Jim proudly served his country in the United States Navy, serving two tours Vietnam as a Seabee and one in Cuba. 

     He is survived by wife Gloria Leasher; sons: Mike Leasher and Mandy Martens, Larry and Kristine Leasher, Steve and Ann Leasher, and Rob and Nikki Leasher; grandchildren: Nichole, Meagan, Jacob, Bradley, Kaylie, Maximus, Grace, and Nolan; also many international children and grandchildren.  He is also survived by his siblings: Lee and Kathy Leasher, Olin and Jeri Leasher, Evelyn Leasher, and Beatrice Windgaston; sister-in-law Connie Leasher; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents George and Olive Leasher, brothers: Jack (Hazel), Bill (Kitty) and Keith Leasher, sister-in-law Judy Leasher, brother-in-law Ron Windgaston and grandson Gabriel Leasher.
