James Cyril Kusnier, Sr.

     James Cyril "Jim" Kusnier, Sr., age 67, of Ovid, MI, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
      A cremation has taken place and a celebration of Jim's life will take place at a later date.
      James was born in Owosso, Michigan on August 12, 1957, the son of Anthony Steven and Joann Bernice (Viles) Kusnier. He graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School with the Class of 1977 and lived his entire life in the area. He worked for Michigan Milk for 38 years. On July 26, 1980, James married Charlene Lanette Shea at the Duplain Church of Christ. They have been blessed with nearly forty-five years marriage.
     Jim dearly loved his grandchildren and faithfully supported their activities. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Detroit Tigers and Lions. He liked to go to his second home at Soaring Eagle Casino. He always loved a frozen Coke. He enjoyed listening to Country Music, especially Willie Nelson and Jelly Roll.
      He is survived by his wife Charlene; his daughter Sarah (Aaron) McClung of Ovid, MI; his son James Kusnier, Jr. of Laingsburg, MI; six grandchildren: Kadin (special friend Rebecca), Kira (special friend Austin), Haley (special friend Tucker), Conor, Arryanna, and Dominique (Robert); several great grandchildren, his sister Kathy (Tim) Shaw, his brother Tony (Linda) Kusnier, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
