James Egbert

James Vincent "Jim" Egbert, age 61, of Elsie, MI, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019, at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI, on December 11, 2019 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Ava Williams officiating.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

James was born in St. Johns, MI on August 4, 1958, the son of Lynwood Rowe and Kay Lou (Vincent) Egbert. Jim graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School with the class of 1978.

Jim volunteered at the Capitol Area Humane Society for 10 years and also at the Elsie Food Bank. He was an avid Detroit Tigers and Michigan State Fan. Jim loved living in Elsie and visiting with people around town.

He is survived by his brother Dan Egbert and Cindy Horan of Rockford, niece Carolyn and Kanyon Robertson, nephews: David and Faatima Egbert, Nathan and Sarah Egbert, and Timothy and Jacqueline Egbert. He is also survived by great nieces and nephews: Kaylen Robertson, Aydan Robertson, Janora Robertson, Josephine Egbert, Carson Egbert, Harper Egbert, Zeke Egbert, Ethan Egbert, Tennyson Egbert, and Theodore Egbert.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
