James Theodore Ade

     James Theodore “Jim” Ade, age 69, of Elsie, MI, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at his home.
     Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI, at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 30, 2025. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Elsie, MI. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
     Jim was born on May 30, 1956, the son of Orville and Mina Alvera (Bates) Ade. He graduated from Ovid-Elsie High School, with the Class of 1974. Jim married Marie Crossley on July 26, 1986, at the Elsie United Methodist Church.
     Jim was a man of many talents and held many jobs throughout the years. He worked with Eugene Welding, Kevin's Body Shop and Ovid-Elsie Area Schools as a bus driver. Jim owned and operated his own lawn care & snow plowing business for 30 plus years. He was a graduate from "Santa Clause School" and spent 3 years at Peacock Road Tree Farm bringing cheer to kids and family's playing Santa. Jim drove race car his entire life, his love of racing began back in high school. He was a past track champion of both Springport & Spartan Speedway. Jim passed his love of racing down to his grandchildren and he treasured this time spent with them. He could always be found in his garage building, fabricating and spending time on classic cars. Most of all, he enjoyed time spent with his family. He was a member of Elsie United Methodist Church.
     He is survived by his wife Marie Ade of Elsie, MI; his children: Karla and Mike McCurdy of Owosso, MI; Starann and Jason Wenzlick of Elsie, MI; Sandy Litomisky and Chris Kioski of Elsie, MI; and his grandchildren: Vidalia Wenzlick, Nicholas McCurdy, Chloe Kioski, and Joseph Kioski. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son James T. Ade, Jr., and his grandson, Clay Ryan Wenzlick.
