Hugh Miller

Hugh Henry Miller, age 85, of Fowler, MI, passed away Monday, November 18, 2019, at Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor, St. Johns, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fowler, MI, on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 10:00 A.M., with Rev. Paul Clark officiating. Burial will take place at East Plains Cemetery, Clinton County, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 2-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Goerge Chapel, Fowler, MI.

Hugh was born in Dallas Township, MI on April 16, 1934, the son of John and Martha (Sommers) Miller. Hugh married Jeanette Elaine Collins on December 17, 1966; Jeanette passed away on March 12, 2016.

Hugh was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, fast pitch softball, and sitting on the cement with his friends. Hugh loved time spent with friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Fowler Conservation Club, Fowler, MI. Hugh served his country as an Army Ranger.

He is survived by his children: Lori Miller, Connie and Jeff Lowery, Don Miller, Vicki and Jeremy Schlak, grandchildren: Chelsea and Trent Feldpausch, Courtney (Al Roll) Miller, Preston Miller, Olivia Miller, Lewis Miller, Karissa Schlak, Hudson Schlak, and Molly Schlak, great-grandchildren: Kinsley Feldpausch, Christian Roll, and Jason Roll.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jeanette Elaine Miller and 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
