Haven Grace Honig

September 2, 2026 — September 4, 2026

Grand Rapids, MI

Haven Grace Honig was born on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the daughter of Keegan and Jenna (Abell) Honig. Despite her condition of anencephaly, Haven defied the odds and fought to stay with her family for 36 hours and 42 minutes. She passed away peacefully lying in her parents’ arms at 1:16 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2026.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Louis Church of Christ, St. Louis, MI, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor AJ Gillespie, Pastor Logan Johns, and Pastor Jut Daron officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, MI, immediately following the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Haven was an incredibly beautiful and strong little girl. Even though she was only here for a short time, her personality was able to shine through. She was resilient, stubborn, and playful. She loved showing off by blowing bubbles with her spit and sweetly cooing at us. She spent the entirety of her little life surrounded by family and the enormous love they all had for her. We are so grateful that Jesus has called her home and that she will feel even more love in Heaven than she did here on Earth. We cannot wait to join her there someday to worship the Lord and blow bubbles together.
She is survived by her parents: Keegan and Jenna Honig of Grand Rapids, MI; grandparents: Matthew and Shelby Honig of St. Louis, MI; and Mark and Amy Abell of St. Louis, MI; great-grandparents: Barbara Honig of Inman, SC; Clare and Wanda Graham of St. Louis, MI; James and Betty Abell of Alma, MI; and Debra Ancel (Eric Green) of Alma, MI; uncles and aunts: Alec Honig of Alma, MI; Zhenya Andrew and Emilee Honig (Hudson, Luca) of Ithaca, MI; Micah Honig of Fort Wayne, IN; Korah and Aaron Farley of Fort Wayne, IN; and Logan Abell of Mt. Pleasant, MI; finally, she is survived by countless extended family members, friends, and church family who have blessed us immensely during this time with encouragement, support, and prayer. She is preceded in death by her great-grandfathers: Robert Honig and Michael Ancel.
