Harold Elmer Hinton, age 91, of Middleton, MI passed away on July 19, 2024, at his home.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Newark Township, MI.
Harold was born in North Shade Twp., MI on January 22, 1933, the son of Clarence Lee and Bernice Belle (Jason) Hinton. He graduated from Fulton High School with the class of 1951. After high school, Harold enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany with the 3rd Armored Division. While in Germany he did armor track maintenance and would take the opportunity to drag race the tanks during the road test. When he returned home, he married Janice Jean Wood, on July 10, 1955, at the Middleton United Methodist Church. She preceded Harold in death on September 3, 2018.
Harold worked at his father's hardware store in Perrinton for many years and retired from Federal Mogul after 32 years of service. He enjoyed deer hunting, attending tractor pulls and truck pulls. Harold was an avid baseball fan and liked attending Tiger's and Lugnuts games. He was a member of New Haven Church of God.
He is survived by his children: Denise and Mark Clark, of Ithaca, MI; Robert and JoAnn Hinton of Farmington Hills, MI; Martin Hinton of Middleton, MI; many grandchildren, and sister-in-law Jane Allen of Maine. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janice, his sister Joyce Langdon and brother Gene Hinton.
