Guy H. Modlin

     Guy H. Modlin, age 81, of St. Louis, MI, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025.
     Guy was born in St. Joseph County, IN, on May 14, 1944, the son of Murray Leroy and Lucille Fern (Eastridge) Modlin. A graduate of Lakeville High School in Indiana, he went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Great Lakes Christian College in 1968, then a teaching degree from Sprint Arbor University in 1975.
     Guy married Carolyn Sue (Packer) Modlin on July 13, 1968, at St. Louis Church of Christ, St. Louis, MI. They spent 57 wonderful years together. Guy was an avid camper, spending annual family reunions at Spring Mill State Park in Indiana. A social butterfly, you could often find Guy at a local diner where he conversed over coffee with his breakfast buddies. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family.
      He was very active in his church communities no matter where he lived; serving as an Elder and a Deacon at Cornerstone Church (Jackson, MI), and a Deacon at East Superior Christian Church (Alma, MI).
     Guy is survived by his wife Carolyn Modlin; and his children: Jeffery (Julie) Modlin, Jeremy Modlin, and Lisa (Glenn) Thompson. He is also survived by grandchildren Pierce (Sara), Riley (Davis), Moira, and Cian; great-grandchildren: Liam, Frey, Emmett, Emery, and Kaycen; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings: Murray Robert Modlin, Carl Leroy Modlin, Gary K. Modlin, and Jane Jantzi; and his granddaughter Madison Modlin.
     A Celebration of Life will be held at Cornerstone Christian Church 2395 West High Street Jackson, MI 49203, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. A Memorial Service will be at Coe Church of Christ 10152 East Coe Road St. Louis, MI 48880, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 A.M.
