Grace Esther Goerge

     Grace Esther Goerge, age 83, of Fowler, MI, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI, at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, with Rev. Fr. John Whitlock presiding. Burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Goerge Chapel, Fowler, MI. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home Monday evening.
     Grace was born in Lebanon Township, Michigan on August 28, 1941, the daughter of Louis and Esther (Platte) Wirth. She married LeRoy Peter Goerge on June 30, 1962 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI.
     Grace loved spontaneous family time, especially with her grandchildren. Being with her family, playing cards and eating food together were some of her greatest joys. She will be remembered for her sharp wit, caring heart and putting others before herself. Grace was a faithful lifelong member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church Fowler, MI, Christian Mothers, and Catholic Order of Foresters.
     She is survived by her husband LeRoy Goerge, children: Sandy and Brian Stump, Lynette and Dean Platte, Kathy and Mike Peavyhouse, LeAnn and Tom Schafer, Amy and Mike Lothschutz, and Craig and Renell Goerge; her loving grandchildren: Jamie, Jordyn, Lyndie, Lauren, Katie, Kelsey, Collin, Dane, Danielle, Taryn, Kylie, Karah, McKenna, Brandon, Gracen, Noelle, and Dominic; and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Mary Lou (Steve) Thelen, and Joyce Epkey; sisters in-laws: Mary Ann Wirth, Harlene Wirth, and Donna Halfmann and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Esther Wirth, siblings: Maynard Wirth, Mark Wirth, and Gladys (Bob) Halfmann, her grandson Lee Platte, and brother-in-law Neil Epkey.
