Gordon Lloyd "Gordie" Hunter, age 70, of Ovid, MI, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Memorial Healthcare, Owosso, MI.

In following his wishes, a cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.  Burial will take place at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Ovid, MI.

Gordon was born in Cedar Springs, MI on January 14, 1951, the fifth son Leslie D. and Leona M. (Purdy) Hunter.  He graduated from Cedar Springs High School with the class of 1969.  On September 15, 1973, Gordon married Joyce Rane Miller at the Juddville United Methodist Church. They were blessed with 48 years of marriage.

Gordie was a "tinker" and could fix almost anything.  He was a teacher; he taught his children to repair cars and electronics, even remodeling their homes.  He loved music and always supported his children in their musical ventures.  Gordie had a big heart and most of all, he loved his family.

Gordie is survived by his wife Joyce, 3 children: Kelley (Christopher) Phipps of MT, Kevin (Amber) Hunter of Owosso, MI; and Kimberly (Edmund) Ellsworth of Owosso, MI; 6 grandchildren: Sarah Phipps, Alexis Langdon, Samantha Hoeflinger, Levi Hunter, Stephanie Ellsworth, and Brandon Ellsworth; and many nieces and nephews.  Gordie was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Carl Langdon, and 4 brothers: Robert, Roland, Jerry, and Jack (Cheryl) Hunter; and brother-in-law Stanley Brunt.
