Geraldine Gager

Geraldine Jean “Gerri” Gager, age 89, of Alma, Michigan, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at her daughter’s home.

Funeral Services will be held on Smith Family Funeral Homes, Ithaca, Michigan, on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Doug Strait officiating.  Burial will take place at Chapel Gardens in Alma , Michigan at a later date. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Geraldine was born in Perrinton , Michigan on February 15, 1932 , the daughter of Gerald Clark and Eulene Vanch (Leslie) Winsor.  She graduated from Fulton High School with the class of 1950.  She married Kenneth R. Gager on June 27, 1953 , in Maple Rapids, Michigan .  They were blessed with 62 years of marriage prior to his passing on August 21, 2015 .

Gerri worked for Ithaca Public Schools as a bus driver for many years and as a housekeeper at the Masonic Home in Alma , Michigan .  Gerri loved to travel with her husband, spending time with her family.  She was a charter member of the Ithaca Wesleyan Church .  She was a worship leader and greeter at church.  She also baked many pies for jamborees.  She resided most of her life in the Gratiot County area.

She is survived by her children: Robert Gager and Terri Fisk of Phelan, CA; Frederick Gager of Alma, MI; Gary and Kimberly Gager of Breckenridge, MI; and Connie and Donald VanHall of Grand Haven, MI; 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her siblings:  Carl Winsor, Glen Winsor, Lauren and Beverly Winsor, Marilyn and Kenneth Bentley, and Leola and Roger LaShombe; one sister-in-law Vicki Winsor.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, siblings: Duane and Marilyn Winsor, and William Winsor, and two sisters-in-law: June Winsor and Carolyn Winsor.
