Gerald Spayde

Gerald "Red" Elwyn Spayde age 94 of Ovid, MI passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017, at his home.

A Memorial graveside will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery Ovid, MI on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 11:00 A.M.

Gerald was born in Ovid, MI on November 29, 1922, the son of Rubin and Hazel (Rose) Spayde.  Gerald married Nora Fleming in 1940; she passed away on November 18, 2003.  He served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard, Merchant Marines. He resided all of his life in Ovid, MI.

Gerald was a retired furniture repairman for Robbin's Furniture. He enjoyed Michigan Football and the Detroit Tigers. In his earlier years he and his wife enjoyed dancing and traveling in their RV.

He is survived by 2 grandchildren; Eric Alvord of Ovid, MI, and Candi and Brad Sullivan of Owosso, MI. He was predeceased by his parents, wife and daughter Rita.
