Francis Joseph Feldpausch, age 92, of Fowler, MI, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fowler, MI, at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, July 18, 2025, with Rev. Fr. John Whitlock presiding. Burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity Cemetery, Fowler, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Goerge Chapel, Fowler, MI, with a Rosary being prayed and a Knights of Columbus Chalice Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Francis was born in Fowler, Michigan on May 3, 1933, the son of Raymond C. and Armella Marie (Pohl) Feldpausch. He graduated from Fowler High School and later earned an Agricultural Certificate from MSU. On June 19, 1954, Francis married the love of his life, Louise Martha Schafer at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pewamo, MI. They were blessed with nearly sixty-five years of marriage prior to her passing on March 17, 2019.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and playing cards with family and friends. Francis was always fixing something or working on a project. Francis unselfishly volunteered his time to help in the Fowler community. He worked many years as the parts department manager at Bees Chevrolet, before becoming the owner and operator of Feldpausch Oil Co. Francis was also an avid farmer, and passed on his love of farming to his son Pat. Francis was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, past Grand Knight, former District Deputy, and current Fourth Degree Color Corp member.
He is survived by his children: Glen (Ellen) Feldpausch of Erie, CO; Susan Weber of St. Johns, MI; Patrick (Becky) Feldpausch of Fowler, MI; Judy Garner of Fowler, MI; Ross (Sabrina) Feldpausch of Fowler, MI; his brother Casper (Therese) Feldpausch; his sister Maryann Thelen; brothers-in-law: Ken Schafer, Carroll "Conrad" Conroy; sister-in-law Adeline Feldpausch. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond (Armella), wife Louise, two sons-in-law: David Weber and Darrell Garner, siblings: Agatha (Louis) Epkey, Bernard Feldpausch, Clement Feldpausch, Therese (Alan) Kramer, Max Feldpausch, Leon (Therese) Feldpausch, Raymond (Doris) Feldpausch, and brother-in-law Tony Thelen.
The Feldpausch family would like to thank Hospice of Lansing and The Indigo at Lansing for their wonderful care of their father.
