Everett was born in St. Johns, Michigan on September 16, 1940, the eldest son of Daniel and Xenia (Norris) Wickwire. He grew up in the village of Eureka, where he attended elementary school. He attended high school at Rodney B. Wilson in St. Johns with the class of 1959. He has attended every one of the class reunions and also meets with several others from the class for lunch each month, an activity he has always looked forward to attending.
On June 25, 1960, he married Virginia Dunham of Harrison, MI at Community of Christ in Harrison. To this union were born three children: Randy (Bobby) Wickwire of Saranc, Michelle (Michael) Neimeyer of Grand Ledge and Trent (Julie) Wickwire of Dundee. Everett and Virginia enjoyed traveling together and visited the 48 adjacent states; although they never ventured into Hawaii or Alaska. They always drove rather than flying so they could experience the many attractions along the way.
Everett had a passion for cars, especially Fords. He helped to build cars, working for General Motors- Fisher Body for 34 years until he retired in 2006. He fixed cars working for several dealerships and mostly enjoyed racing at several tracks in the greater Lansing area, which included several checkered flags.
He was a long time member of Community of Christ. He attended church each Sunday and read his Bible regularly. He also offered his skills as the "fix it" person.
After many months of suffering from severe arthritis pain and heart challenges, on December 26th he experienced a heart attack that ended his life on December 27th.
Everett was predeceased by his parents and his two brothers, Richard "Jim" Wickwire and Arthur Wickwire who died at birth. He is survived by his wife, Virginia of 65 years, his three children and their spouses, 7 grandchildren, Randy Wickwire, Jr., Christopher (April) Wickwire, Nichole Wickwire, Justin (AJ) Neimeyer, Jessica (Andy) Norris, Harrison Wickwire, and Austin Wickwire, and 10 enjoyable great-grandchildren, Ericka, Aniken, Olivia, Amelia, Roland, Ava, Remington, Rogan, Leon, and Austin.
