Rev. Evelyn E. Huber age 50 of St. Louis, Michigan died Sunday July 11, 2004 at Battle Creek Health System in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 15, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Michigan State Church of God Campground in St. Louis, Michigan. Rev. Sam Dunbar will officiate with burial at Woodland Cemetery in Rosebush, Michigan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the campground.
Evelyn was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on March 5, 1954 the daughter of Gerald Melvin & Gladys Marie ( House ) Huber. She graduated from Hastings High School with the class of 1972. She then attended Warner Southern College and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in 1978. Evelyn pastored in several states including Mobile, AL; Benton Harbor, MI; Ashland, KY; Ashland, IL; and Prospect Church of God in Mt. Pleasant, MI. She had been resident director of the Michigan State Church of God Campground in St. Louis for the past few years. She was very passionate about music and loved baking. She was a member of St. Louis Church of God as well as a member of Women in Ministry & Women of The Church of God.
She is survived by 5 siblings, Kay & Keith MacKenzie of Vermontville, MI,; Jay Huber of San Juan, TX; Loretta & Jim Holm of Gladwin, MI; Valera & Mike Lewis of McAllen, TX; & Staff Sgt John Huber of Iraq; stepbrother Rich Churchill of Kentwood, Lori & Mike Rogers of Greenville, stepmother Marilyn & Jesse Roach of Battle Creek, nieces & nephews, Kristine & Chris Ames of Nashville, MI; Kirk MacKenzie of Nashville, MI; Elizabeth & Emily Holm of Gladwin, MI; Zach & Sean Lewis of McAllen, TX; great niece & nephew Carson & Jennelle Ames of Nashville, MI. She is predeceased by her parents, and 1 brother, Jack Leroy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Prayer Garden at the Michigan State Church of God Campground. The family is being served by Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel, 117 North East Street, St. Louis, MI 48880
