Ernest Vostrirancky

Ernest Vostrirancky, age 78, of Bannister, MI, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020, at his home.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI, at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 19, 2020, with Pastor Mona Kindel officiating.  Burial will take place at Ford Cemetery, Gratiot County, MI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes Elsie, MI.

Ernest was born in St. Johns, Michigan on November 5, 1941, the son of Joseph and Rose (Santrucek) Vostrirancky.  Ernie married Patricia (Brier) Schuler on June 28, 1969 in Gratiot County, MI.

Ernie retired from General Motors after 30 years of service.  He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, fixing cars and attending car shows.  Ernie was a handyman and very creative.  He made many keepsakes for his family. Ernie was known for pranks he played on family and for keeping them on their toes.  He loved spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was a good friend and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife Pat Vostrirancky; children: Joe Vostrirancky, Rennee Vostrirancky, Cheryl and Ken Brown, Ed and Laura Schuler, Phillip and Marilyn Schuler, Jeff Vostrirancky, Christine and Marty Nelson, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Rosemary Liss, and brother Emil Vostrirancky.  He was preceded in death by his parents Rose and Joe Vostrirancky, son Ernie, his brother Edwin Voss, sisters: Mildred Dush and Agnes Strachota.
