Eric Perry

Eric Phillip Perry, age 47, of Ovid, MI, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Houghton Chapel, Ovid, MI, on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Andy Croel officiating. Burial will take place at Fairfield Township Cemetery, Fairfield Township, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Eric was born in St. Johns, MI on October 10, 1972, the son of Phillip Perry and Cynthia LaFountain. He graduated from St. Johns High School with the class of 1991. He went on to LCC to obtain his journeyman in machine repair.

Eric was a loyal employee at Meridian Magnesium in Eaton Rapids for 18 years. Eric's life revolved around his sons, Eric and Gavyn and took great pride in raising them. He loved spending time with them, watching their sporting events and supporting them in any way possible. Eric enjoyed riding his Harley with his cousin Matt and uncles.  He liked being outdoors, cooking, grilling and entertaining friends and family. Eric also enjoyed attending car shows and working on cars and his motorcycle. Eric took a lot of pride in his dream truck, a 2019 F250 Super Duty Diesel. He loved his dogs Izzy and Max. Eric would stop by his dad's house everyday to check in on him and spend time together doing projects.

Eric will be remembered as a giving selfless person. He would give the shirt off his back to someone in need and was known for always putting others before himself. He was an amazing father, brother, son, uncle and friend. He was the rock for his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his sons: Eric K. Perry and Gavyn Perry, father Phillip Perry, mother Cynthia LaFountain, siblings: Amy and Robert Fraker, Chad and Jessica Perry, Heidi Ruppert and Pat McGee, Kyle and Denise Fullhart, and grandfather Ronald Gallagher. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.  He was preceded in death by his step mother Sally Perry, grandmother Edna Gallagher, grandfather Delmont LaFountain, and grandparents Ralph and Joyce Whittaker.
