Eric Michael Miles

      Eric Michael Miles and granddaughter Ronnie LynnMarie Miles passed away together on January 21, 2026.
      A visitation for Eric will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns, MI, from 2-7 P.M. on Thursday, January 29, 2026. A celebration of life will be held later this spring.
      Eric was born in Carson City, Michigan on July 20, 1975, the son of Mike and Cathy (Simon) Miles. Eric graduated from Pewamo-Westphalia High School, with the class of 1995. In 1996, Eric graduated from Nashville Auto Diesel College. He worked many jobs as a diesel mechanic. In 2015, Eric started his business Eric Miles Custom Harvesting, which he was proud of building from the beginning.
      He is survived by his daughter Grace (Mason) Daugherty; his grandchildren: Remington and Westen Daugherty; his parents Mike and Cathy Miles; his lifelong partner Sara Ellis; his sister Beth Stine; his niece Katey Stine; his nephews: Camron Stine and Jacob Stine; and his grandmother Helen Simon. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Ronnie LynnMarie Miles, his sister Katie Miles, his grandfather Robert Simon, and his uncle Pat Simon.
     Memorials may be made to Westphalia Fire/Rescue, Portland Fire/Rescue, Delta Township Fire/Rescue, EMS Portland and Delta Ambulance, and Capital Area Dive Team or your local fire department.
